About Albarkat Welfare Trust

A UK registered charity dedicated to helping those who need it most.

Who we are

Albarkat Welfare Trust is a registered charity based in England and Wales. Founded in 2023, we work to provide emergency relief, support community welfare, and enable access to education for those who need it most.

We are committed to transparent, ethical fundraising and follow the standards set by the Fundraising Regulator. Every penny raised goes directly to the causes we champion — with no hidden administration charges.

Our small, dedicated team of trustees works to ensure the charity operates with the highest standards of governance, accountability, and public benefit.

Our mission

Our mission is to provide welfare, relief, and development support to individuals and communities facing hardship — regardless of background, ethnicity, or belief.

We believe that everyone deserves dignity, opportunity, and the chance to thrive. Through targeted interventions in emergency relief, community welfare, and education, we work to make a tangible difference in the lives of the people we serve.

Our charitable work is guided by the principle of barakat — the Arabic concept of blessing and abundance — and by our conviction that generosity, responsibly channelled, can transform lives.

Governance

Albarkat Welfare Trust is governed by a board of trustees who are collectively responsible for the charity's activities and ensuring we operate in accordance with our governing document, the Charities Act 2011, and the guidance issued by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Our trustees act in the best interests of the charity and the public, maintaining full financial accountability and transparency. We prepare and file annual reports and accounts with the Charity Commission in accordance with our legal obligations.

Fundraising standards

We are registered with the Fundraising Regulator and are fully committed to the Code of Fundraising Practice. Our fundraising activities are conducted honestly, openly, and with respect for our supporters.

We have signed the Fundraising Promise, committing us to be clear, honest, and open in all our fundraising activities; to work within the law; to be fair and reasonable; and to be accountable and responsible.
