Why we exist

Albarkat Welfare Trust was founded by a group of individuals driven by a shared belief: that small acts of giving, done with purpose, can change lives. We saw communities around us struggling — with poverty, displacement, and lack of access to basic necessities — and we wanted to do something meaningful in response.

The name Albarkat reflects this founding vision. In Arabic, barakat means abundance and divine blessing — but also the idea that blessings grow when they are shared. We believe that generosity, when channelled responsibly through a structured charitable framework, has the power to create ripples of positive change far beyond what any individual could achieve alone.

Looking ahead

We are proud of what we have achieved in a short time, but we know there is so much more to do. In the coming years, we plan to expand our reach — supporting more communities, launching new programmes, and building partnerships that multiply our impact.

Our ambition is to grow sustainably, always keeping the needs of the people we serve at the centre of everything we do. With the continued support of our donors, partners, and the communities we work with, we are confident we can make a lasting difference.
