Our commitment
Albarkat Welfare Trust holds a lottery operating licence under the Gambling Act 2005 and is committed to preventing gambling-related harm. We recognise that while our raffle is designed to be a fun and transparent way to support our charitable work, gambling can cause harm to some individuals.
We adhere to the three licensing objectives of the Gambling Act 2005: preventing gambling from being a source of crime; ensuring gambling is conducted fairly and openly; and protecting children and vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling.
Age verification
Our raffle is strictly only open to persons aged 18 and over. To enforce this:
- A prominent age-gate notice is displayed at the top of the raffle page.
- All entrants are required to confirm their date of birth when submitting an entry form.
- By submitting an entry, all participants confirm they are aged 18 or over and are UK residents.
- We reserve the right to require proof of age and to void entries and withhold prizes where age cannot be verified.
Underage gambling is an offence. If you are aware of a person under 18 attempting to enter our raffle, please contact us immediately at contact@albwt.org.
Self-exclusion
If you feel you need to stop gambling, you can self-exclude from our raffle at any time. To do so:
- Contact us at contact@albwt.org and request exclusion from our raffle mailing list and future draws.
- Register with GamStop, the national self-exclusion scheme, to exclude yourself from all UK online gambling sites.
We will honour all self-exclusion requests promptly and will not market our raffle to self-excluded individuals.
Spending limits
We encourage all participants to set a personal budget before entering our raffle and to only spend what they can comfortably afford.
Our raffle allows a maximum of 10 tickets (£20) per person per draw. This limit is in place to help participants manage their spend.
If you feel your gambling is becoming unmanageable, please seek support from one of the organisations listed below before entering any further draws.
